Ok. #1....do you get popups? and #2.....what browser do you use? And no, it wouldn't have anything to do with the IP address. It would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this as I am not one for bandaid approaches. It's a big issue and should be addressed.

And we all realize that if we shut them ads down we get to the site--but new people will come to the site and think its just another one of those trashy places that bombards your screen with ads--you guys know the kind of sites I mean!

Michael, So are you saying that GH trying to get the address of the person who runs this site will not help? As you know I am a computer idiot, and I do have a pop up blocker already, but I still get those clicks everytime one comes up and when I close down, I have to close down all of the pop ups too. It's not really that big of an inconvenience but if there were some way to stop all of these advertisements I would surely prefer it.

No, I mean the pop-ups have nothing to do with our personal IP addresses. I am sure that might help, Marot. I am using Internet Explorer 7.0. I am getting the pop-ups again too. I put the ilead.itrack.it domain in the restricted sites zone so the content doesn't get displayed and no active x controls or anything can get downloaded and yada, yada, yada when the pop-up.......pops-up. It's just a blank white page. The other way to stop the pop-ups.....some of them, is to go to tools>internet options>privacy>sites and put itrack.it in the box and click "block" and then put ilead.itrack.it in the box and click "block". I was able to stop the itrack.it pop-ups this way, but when I try to put the ilead.itrack.it one in there, it will not let me add it. I have no clue why. I figured maybe you guys will be able to. But, the method I outlined is how you itemize what sites you don't want popping up.

I tried what you have done, M--but it really bogs down my computer? It's like it has to think to much to block it from the privacy settings? The popups come up whenever I come to the site, open a thread or even try to get into my PMS. So that means every time I want to read or write on a thread or send or receive a PM I have to close down the pop ups before I can do anything. It might not sound like a big deal--but when your computer is running crappy it can make for a very frustrating time trying to post--not to mention I just can't figure out why the site is advertising for this ILEADTRACK anyway--it has nothing to do with methadone or nama!

funnier even is that my pop up blockers are working here because it blocks the little box that pops up when you have a PM--which I actually like because otherwise I miss them!

It didn't happen this morning when I signed on-go figure!

I'm breaking my promise and telling you ONE MORE TIME. Go to www.noads.com, load the program (it's perfectly safe) and you can block all those pop ups. I never have any problem with them.

No, you need to look into fixing the problem, Hoss. I am well aware of pop-up blocker programs. They aren't a new thing. Did you read the whole thread? And Kristan, don't you have to close them anyway? Actually, your computer has to do less with what I told you to do.....it keeps problems from happening by shutting things down.....not allowing any content on the page to activate or work. I have no clue why it would bog it down. Makes no sense to me. Hoss, can you please look into fixing the problem? And, I posted this thread in the other forum because I go to that forum. I don't go to the other forums on here, for the most part. It was annoying as all hell this morning to figure out what happened to this. Would it have really screwed the works up to leave it?

I'll ask the support staff if they have any suggestions but I'm not having the problem at all and when this came up before, they told me that the posters computers that were having the problems were probably infected or needed to ad a blocker of some kind because they weren't getting any problems at any of their other sites with pop ups.

I found out why we are getting the pop ups. Get rid of that webstats4u counter you have and everything should be fine. That is what is causing the pop ups. Nedstatbasic also causes ilead pop-ups, come to find out.

I don't see webstats4u counter anywhere on any page when I am at this site.

I already PM'd you pointing to where you should look. I will point it out here so others will see it too. It's right at the bottom of each page where it says, "Bulletin board hosting by readybb"......under that, there is an icon for webstats4u. That is what is causing our pop-ups.

So what do we do after we click on that icon Michael? My pop ups have not been bothersome at all lately, but if there is something I should do to prevent it by clicking on this icon, please, do tell! Love, Marot

Just the fact it is there is causing the pop-ups. The thing is, webstats4u offers the service of allowing people to put their free counter on their websites. In return, they get to advertize on your site via pop-ups.
