Local family shoot on last day, combining beating and picking up with three springers and a lab. Only a small day 50+ birds but we didnt miss many runners or shot birds- only those where they were in the next drive and we only missed two of those.
At one drive with very tall birds I had to stand behind a Brigadier due to the topography and at the end of the drive he thanked me for a wonderful display of picking up - one time all four had a bird in their mouth and on the way back to me!!! At least I have the close season to calm down and reduce hat size!!! _________________ I hope one day to shoot at what I use for my username!!
I may even hit one |
